The Indian Ocean restaurant offers a selection of mouthwatering signature dishes hand-crafted by our chefs to showcase their skills and passion in the kitchen.
For our King Prawn Tandoori Masala, our chefs season juicy king prawns with salt and pepper before marinating them in grated ginger, crushed garlic, lime juice, ground chilli pepper and yoghurt. The tikka prawns are then cooked in a rich but mild masala sauce, perhaps the best known and most popular dish in Indian cuisine.
Our spicier Murgh Mossallam contains a full and tender chicken breast cooked together with lamb mince. The meat is smothered in a medium balti sauce before being garnished with ginger, coriander, and sliced boiled egg. Traditionally served at mountain hill stations, this dish is more suited to a cold winter day when you need warming up.
In our Spicy Fish Tikka Masala, pieces of seabass are marinated in tandoori masala and tikka paste, coriander and cumin seeds. Garlic, fresh crushed ginger and tomato pure, which have been gently simmered in a pan with turmeric, ground chilli, almond powder and yoghurt are added to make a fairly spicy but delicious dish.
Based on a 100 year old recipe, our Raan-E-Khyber lamb shank is slow cooked to ensure the meat melts in the mouth, in a medium heat Masala sauce made with onions, garlic, ginger, tomatoes and finely chopped green chillies.
Our chefs cook Paneer and King Prawns in an exotic mix of whole spices, red and green peppers, whole dried red chillies, fresh tomatoes, and a special Nepalese chilli sauce for our King Prawn Paneer Gorkali. The result is a brightly-coloured, spicy dish.
One of the Indian Ocean’s most popular dishes is the Murgh-E--Akhbari, in which we combine whole chicken breast with minced lamb in a spicy sauce of onions, garam masala, and whole crushed red chillies.
For a rich and buttery dish with a kick, try the Lamb Tak-A-Tak; succulent lamb pieces, lean lamb mince, and a unique blend of spices and fresh chillies.
Last, but definitely not least, the Tandoori Mix Balti is a meat lover’s dream, containing all your favourites, including chicken tikka, seekh kebab, lambchop and lamb tikka. These delicious meats are served in a rih, medium spiced Balti sauce with fresh green chillies.
