We’ve only gone and won another award!

Curry guru Pat Chapman has named us one of the best 17 restaurants in the UK in The Cobra Good Curry Guide 2013.

To mark the accolade, Pat came to visit us for a celebration lunch on Monday 3rd December.  During his speech, where we were named the Best in the North, Pat spoke very highly of the restaurant and of our committment to serving the best Indian food and giving diners an experience, not just a meal.

Tasty canapes were doing the rounds during the presentation which included the popular Lahori fish balls and firey Kashmiri chicken tikka pieces (thank goodness for the cooling mint yogurt dip!).  After the formalities were taken care of it was down to the serious business of lunch.

Amongst an array of chicken, meat and vegetable dishes, guests were treated to a take on the traditional Pakistani dish Nihari.  Made using shredded meat (we used chicken), the result is a fairly thick consistancy best eaten with a kulcha bread.  These were served along with a selection of other naan breads and rice. 

Pat took the time to speak to the other diners after the food and posed for pictures with customers and members of the Indian Ocean kitchen and front of house teams.

It was great afternoon and nice to be able to share the experience with our customers instead of attending an awards ceremony.

We’re pleased to have had Pat at the restaurant and we hope he decides to visit us agin soon!
